Common Circle: Begin the day by standing in a circle with the teacher and students, where everyone wishes each other something good or performs a “ritual of passing on a good mood.” You can use props for this activity.
Tactile Relaxation: Use soft toys for relaxation. Invite children to pet a bear, massage an ear, etc.
A Gift for a Classmate: Conduct this exercise in a circle. Each student and the teacher take turns naming another student in the class and saying what they are giving them. For example, “I want to give you sunshine/cloud/smile.”
Practicing Gratitude: At the end of the school day, invite students to join a circle and take turns sharing who they helped today and who did something good for them.
Sharing Funny Stories: Invite students to collect and write down funny stories from their lives throughout the week and share them in a circle at the end of the week.
